Stitch Slop is a machine-embroidery digitizer that runs in your web browser, at stitchslop.com. These are the rules for using it. What we collect, and why, is on the privacy page.

The basics

Stitch Slop is run by Mosteyes LLC ("we").
By using Stitch Slop or making an account, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Anyone can use the digitizer. You must be 18 or older to make an account.
Accounts are not available in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. You can still use the digitizer there without one.
Stitch Slop is free. We may add paid features later, and we'll say so before anything costs money.
Stitch Slop is in beta. Expect bugs and changes.

Your designs are yours

Anything you draw, trace, type or upload stays yours. We don't claim it.
Signed out, nothing you make is sent to us, unless you choose to send a bug report.
When you save a design to an account, you let us store it, show it back to you, make previews, and pass it to the people you share it with, including through links.
You also let us use your saved designs to teach Stitch Slop's image tracer.
These permissions are free, worldwide and non-exclusive, and they cover the companies that host Stitch Slop for us. What the image tracer has learned stays in it, even after you delete a design or your account.

Only use what you have the right to use

Upload or save only artwork, fonts and designs you own or have permission to use in the ways these terms describe.
Respect the licence that came with a font or design you bought. Stitch Slop's own fonts and designs use the StitchSlop First-Party Asset License unless they come with another licence.
If something you upload or share, or your breaking these terms, leads to a legal claim against us, you agree to cover the cost, including any damages and reasonable legal fees.

Please don't

Try to break, overload or get around the service or its limits.
Make extra accounts to get around limits, or send fake reports.
Upload anything illegal, or anything that copies someone else's work without permission.

Copyright complaints

If you think something on Stitch Slop copies your work, send a notice to our designated copyright agent, registered with the US Copyright Office:

Your notice must include:

the work you own, and where it appears on Stitch Slop, such as a share link
your name, mailing address, phone number and email
a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not allowed
a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you own the work or are allowed to act for its owner
your signature, typed or handwritten

We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe. If you think something of yours was removed by mistake, email us.

No promises, and limited liability

Stitch Slop is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranty of any kind. We don't promise it will be error-free, always available, fit for a particular purpose, or that it will keep your designs safe.
Previews and stitch counts are estimates. We don't promise a design will sew out as shown, or that an exported file will work on every machine.
Keep your own copies. Saved designs can be lost, and we are not liable for designs that are lost or damaged. Use Download Project for anything that matters to you.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any injury, or for damage to your machine, materials or other property, arising from your use of Stitch Slop or from sewing a design made with it.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits, lost business or lost time.
As far as the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to US$50 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is more.

Changes and stopping

We may change, add or remove features, or stop the service, at any time.
We may suspend or close any account at any time, for any reason.
If these terms change, the date at the top changes too. Big changes will be noted in the app or by email to account holders. If you keep using Stitch Slop after a change, you accept the new terms.
You can stop using Stitch Slop at any time. You can delete your account yourself from account settings, which removes your account and all your files. If you have trouble, email contact@stitchslop.com from the address on the account.

Law and contact

These terms follow the law of the State of California.
Any dispute is heard in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you agree to those courts.
Any claim about Stitch Slop must be brought individually, not as part of a class action or other representative action. Either of us can still bring a claim in small claims court.
Any claim about Stitch Slop must be brought within one year of when it arose.
If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about Stitch Slop. If Stitch Slop changes hands, we may pass these terms to the new owner.
